The Episcopal Church began meeting in General Convention in 1872, but the 76th General Convention, which runs from July 8 through July 17 in Anaheim, may be one of the most closely watched by those outside the church.
More than 10,000 deputies, bishops, visitors, staff, and media will gather together in Anaheim, and the world will be watching to see what the Church decides about several important issues from sexuality to the economy and the environment.
On Wednesday, the 8th, after the opening Eucharist, the first legislative sessions begin. For the next 10 days our deputies will begin their days at 6:30 am. The legislative sessions end at 6:00 p.m., and many evenings are filled with meetings or other events.
We will keep you posted day by day as Convention unfolds.
